Gardeners across North Wiltshire can recycle their green waste with the help
of a brown wheeled bin.
The brown bins provide the perfect solution to the quantities of garden waste
that are produced in the home. The bins are available for just £25 a
year and are emptied every two weeks and the contents turned into compost.
Anyone in North Wiltshire can register their interest to
join the scheme but it will only be introduced in areas when
there is sufficient demand.
Recycling garden waste not only helps reduce the amount
of waste being buried in landfill sites, but also produces
rich, nutritious compost for use in gardens, parks and even
on football pitches and golf courses to produce top quality
results.
Garden waste is collected every fortnight and turned into
compost at the Household Recycling Centre at Compton Bassett.
The ‘Warrior Compost’ is a medium grade particle
size organic peat-free compost and can be bought at all the
Household Recycling centres.
To register an interest to join the scheme, contact the
Recycling Hotline on 01249 706693.
