Wiltshire County Council Election 2005 Results
6th May 2005
Congratulations to Toby Sturgis on holding the Wootton Bassett South seat for the Wiltshire County Council elections, having received over 46 per cent of the turnout vote.

Toby Sturgis, who was Cabinet member for Planning and Waste in the last County Hall administration, has retained his seat. Philip Allnatt, who sat as an Independent for a Chippenham division, unsuccessfully challenged Mr Sturgis in Wootton Bassett this time.

Lyneham, is part of the Wootton Bassett South Electoral Division, under the North Wiltshire Division. The voting took place on the same day as the General Election and the results were announced shortly after 1pm today.

The local elections provide us with a chance to have a direct impact on the way the Wiltshire County Council is run. Everyday, councillors make decisions on our behalf, ranging from what is happening in local schools to the local environment and care of the vulnerable. Congratulations to other local candidates: to Mollie Groom retaining her Wootton Bassett North seat also to Anthony Trotman and Nancy Bryant from Calne and Calne Without respectively.
