| I have spoken up for this wonderful constituency
at every opportunity since being elected in 1997. In the last
four years, I have handled more than 1000 different cases
brought to me through my local surgeries around the constituency
I have written tens of thousands of letters on your behalf
in that time and I fill every Friday and Saturday with constituency
visits and events.
I am also proud to be Shadow Countryside Minister and in
the top 10% of MPs for tackling difficult issues by asking
Parliamentary Questions and contributing to debates - and
I have one of the very best voting records of any MP
That is why I feel confident to ask for your vote, because
my pledge is to continue representing the interests of all
my constituents and to keep you informed through my newsletters
and weekly column in the local paper
I want to make it clear how important your vote is. It will
help decide who forms the next Government, the Conservatives
or Labour. It will determine whether our country has to suffer
five more years of spin, half-truths and lack of delivery.
Or you can use it to elect a government, which will spend
your money more carefully, provide better public services
and offer less interference in the way we live our lives.
That government is a Conservative government.
We will act on the things that really matter to people: discipline
in our schools; preventing Europe from taking more control
over our lives; providing more police and ending Labour's
early prisoner release scheme; bringing immigration under
control; cutting wasteful government spending; ensuring our
hospitals are clean and safe; reducing council tax, especially
for pensioners.
North Wiltshire is my home and my constituents are my friends
and neighbours. I hope you will all trust me to continue looking
after your interests at the very heart of government by returning
me to Parliament on May 5th. |
