Local Community - Lyneham Ward Election 2007

The North Wiltshire District Council Lyneham Ward Election 2007 results for the poll are published.

The election took place in Lyneham Ward on Thursday 3rd May 2007 and the count took place at The Olympiad Leisure Centre Chippenham on Friday 4th May 2007. There were 2 seats available. Many thanks to those who have voted and congratulations to:

There was a total of 1,621 people who voted this time out of a total electorate 4,039. The Lyneham Village Hall received 509 votes, Clyffe Pypard Village Hall 100, Bradenstoke Village Hall 279 and Tockenham Village Hall 103. There was a significant increase in the number of postal voters, 426 was received. Lyneham Village only had a 21.90% voting turnout for the day. Tockenham village had the highest at 55.08% equating to 103 out of a possible 187 electorate, this includes the postal votes too. Cllr Allison Bucknell retains her seat and newly elected Cllr Sarah Still will be taking over from Liberal Democrat Cllr John Webb. Congratulations to the successful Conservative candidates and many thanks to the other candidates who were unsuccessful. Thank you to Mr John Webb for your contribution to Lyneham Ward. The Lyneham Ward result was a significant gain for the Conservatives and within the North Wiltshire District Council the Conservatives now hold 39 seats of the total 54 available, Liberal Democrats hold 14 and Labour one.
